Family Reunions

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASursum Corda has become a popular location for family reunions over the past few years. With 22 beds in 10 different rooms, families comment on how much space the facility provides and how everyone feels they have their own space to retreat to, which is especially important for the introverts in the group! The open kitchen/dining/living space on the main floor is ideal for involving everyone in meal preparation and other group activities. Families with young children often include a treasure hunt activity during the reunion either indoors through the many rooms of the main house or in the forest trails that lead from the yurt. And of course, no reunion would be complete without a bonfire on the beach, complete with S’mores and story-telling. Our Welcome Booklet offers many other possible activities to make your reunion special.

Sometimes, families benefit from outside facilitation of conversations from a neutral facilitator during the reunion to address sensitive topics or decisions. Carol Guenther, director of Sursum Corda, is also a professional mediator and can be available to facilitate a family meeting during the reunion to address topics of your choosing.
